TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS SECTION 16
Power Supply
Inputs: 5 ±0.25VDC or
6-16V
Current: 150 ma maximum.
Outputs not loaded.
20 µA maximum, lowest power mode
Currents measured without RS-232 attached.
Screw terminals provided for + 5V and external
high voltage input.
Memory
External RAM -
512K
RAM is battery backed up. Backup time varies with
usage and operating te mper ature. Backup time is
estimated at 4 to 6 years at 25°C, board not
powered. Backup time reduced by 50% when
operating at 50°C.
Program EPROM -
512K, Atmel type 29C040A. This is a PEROM and
does not need sector er ase. Howe ver, data is
written in 256 byte blocks.
Analog Input
Channels: 8
Resolution: 12 bits (about 1. 22 mV /coun t)
Range: 0. 1 - 5V (W11 installed) or 0.1 - 2. 5V (W11
removed).
Input impedance: 1M ohms
Conversion tim e: 1 m illi-second in Basic
Reference: Adjustable from about 4.8 to 5.2 volts or
preset to 2.5V
Analog Output
Channels: 2
Resolution: 12 bits
Range: 0.1 - 5V (W11 installed) or 0.1 - 2.5V
(W11 removed)
Output cur rent: 2 ma m aximum /channel, 4 ma total.
Response time: 2 ms
Real Time Clock
Type: DS1689
Accuracy: 1 min/month. This will vary
depending upon operating temperature.
Ac cura cy spe cif ied at 2 5°C
Interrupts: May generate an INT0 when J7-1 is
jumpered to J7-3. Also used to wake
up card from low power mode.
Battery backup: Battery backs up RAM. Connector for
external battery provided when special
ordered without battery.
Operating life: Four to 6 years, depending upon
temperature and humidity.
Reset
CPU resets when 5V supply falls below about 4. 65 volts.
Held in reset until supply rises to about 4.65 volts. Reset
time is about 300 ms.
LCD Display Port
Interfaces to 4 x 20 and 4 x 40 character displays.
Contrast adjustment provided.
Serial Ports
Type: RS-232 (COM 0) and RS-232, RS-422, or RS-
485 (COM 1)
Number:2
MECHANICAL
Size: 72.24 mm x 157.48 mm (2.80" x 6.20" )
Mounting: Mounting hole centers are 3.81 mm
(0.150") from each corner. Hole sizes are
4.445 mm (0.175") dia. in 6.35 mm
(0.250“ ) pad. Use 0. 250" standoffs for
mounting.
SHOCK AND VIBRATION
The RPC -210 board should withstand 5 g's r andom
vibration, 5 to 500 Hz if some moderate amount of
precautions are taken.
U6 is plastic and has re latively low m ass. If vibration is
continuous, you can secure the chip to the socket using
silicone rubber cem ent.
The batter y is soldered to the board. H owever , in
continuous vibr ation environments the welds could
break. Metal fatigue is possible in the bands connecting
the battery to the board. Pt a non-conductive piece
